My Favourite Card...

Well I think the new issue of C&P goes on sale today (for those that aren't subscribers) and I was over the moon to be part of their reader feature along with some of my fellow crafters!

My little feature with my glittery card...

My card again...

Really chuffed to be picked as part of this feature...it's really nice to see your name in print as I'm usually the one publishing other people's stuff at work!

Still recovering from my crazy two weeks of crafting and various bits and pieces. I've still got to have a look through my stuff from Alexandra Palace but I think I'm going to sit down and sort through my stash tonight. I only organised it a few weeks back so hopefully it won't take me long!!

Happy Tuesday....

Craft Fair

Jeez....that was a mega busy weekend! I went to Ally Pally on Saturday and bought far too much. Alot of it just 'fell' into my hand and I got alot of disapproving looks from Mr Hannah (he was only joshing...I think!) Those bargain shoppers are a bit crazy....I thought it was bad last year but it got a bit chaotic so we left about 2.30 with a few bags! I reckon I got quite a few goodies...lots of cheap packs of brads which was great. I'm going to sit down and tidy up my craft stash tonight as what with organising for the craft fair last week, things were just being tidied away anywhere!
So here are a few pic's of my stall...

Embellished Tags, Calendars, Door Hangers & Photo Albums...

A little photo album of my cards (some of which I've sold, made specifically for people etc...) and also this month's issue of C&P with me in it - more on that tomorrow!

My selection of cards (all divided up!)...with a few of Mr Hannah's planes in the background...

The Craft Fair was ok, sold a few bits and pieces but there were quite alot of older people who weren't willing to part with more than 50p! People were very interested in Mr Hannah's stand as alot of husband's stopped to have a look whilst their wives were on the prowl for a bargain! There was such a range of stalls there from Fudge to Silk Flowers...but having chatted to quite a few of the other stall holders nobody seemed to be selling much, even though it was fairly busy at points. I did receive lots of nice compliments though and people did stop by and took some of my business cards. I'm glad I did it as it's all experience but probably wouldn't go again. I do pretty well at work with my cards so I'm not too disheartened (now on reflection - was a bit disappointed yesterday having worked so hard!)

Anyway, I'm quite relieved it's over as I can relax a bit more at home and not get so stressed about organising everything. I went to bed between 12 and 1 every night last week and I'm up at 6.45 so my body was starting to give up towards the end!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Bye Bye Charlie...

Well today's a bit of a funny day as my older sister Charlotte is leaving home (for about the fourth time - uni, florida x2!) to move to Cambridge to start her new job! It's very exciting and I'm happy for her but I'm sad that she is going :o( With my younger sister now back at uni, it's going to be soooo quiet at home. My Mum asked me if I could make her a nice card to say Good Luck etc for her new job and moving away so I came up with this...

My Mum picked out the Tilda and my sister likes roses so we thought it was quite apt for her! I experimented with Tilda's hair a bit to make it look shiny...sort of worked! Still learning :o)

Printed out the sentiment to bring out the lime green's in the backing paper...

Really cute paper flowers from Craftime...which kind of look like cabbages too. Lol!

Stamped 'Good Luck' with one of the mini stamp packs I picked up from Hobbycraft for 99p. Oh I do love a bargain! I then coloured the white parts green to match...

Recipe...

Backing Paper is from DCWV's Glitter Stack 12 x 12
Tilda coloured in with promarkers - Lemon, Pastel Yellow, Lime Green, Apple, Pine, Grass, Cornflower, Blue Pearl, Pastel Blue, Amethyst
Craftime Green Paper Flowers
Ribbon from Stash
Gem's from Anita's Gem Wheel
Sentiment from comp

Really hope she likes it! I'm gonna be really sad by the end of the weekend I reckon. Not one to embrace change...we all had dinner out last night with Mr Hannah and Em's boyfriend too. We're lucky as we all get on really well! Lots seem to be changing at the moment - guess I'll have to get used to it.

On a happier note, I'm off to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show later this morning. Really looking forward to it (don't think my c/c is!!). Mr Hannah is driving me and we're going to go to RAF Hendon afterwards and then a model shop to keep him happy. Craft Fair tomorrow - major eek!

Happy Weekend everyone....

Princess' 1st Birthday...

Another card order for work and one of my favourite themes - pink and girly! I only had to make sure it had '1st Birthday' and 'Holly' on it and the rest was up to me. I really LOVE this Princess Anya stamp so thought it would make a cute centre to the card. As you all know, I can resist a bit of glitter so I coloured her crown and wand silver to tie in with the sparkles!

Princess Anya complete with silver crown and pink and silver gems..

I orginally had the '1' in the same font but it didn't stand out enough so I used a thicker font...

The stars were punch outs from embellishing my paper bags the other day...

Recipe...

Plain Pink Cardstock
Silver Glitter card from Flower Factory
Letters cut using Cricut
Papermania Gems (both silver and pink)
TGF Princess Anya Stamp coloured with Hot Pink, Magenta, Rose Pink, Ivory, Blush, Vanilla, Cinnammon and Cocoa
Stars were punch outs

Woooo it's finally Friday! The weekend has arrived at last. I managed to make this last night amongst a few Christmas cards and a Goodbye card for my sister (more on that tomorrow!) Hope everyone has a great weekend - whatever you get up to!

Surfing Time...

My stamps finally arrived from TGF in the US of A (won't tell you how much but it was ALOT!) but it was well worth it. I haven't really got many 'male themed' stamps so this Surfer Ian is a great little addition to my growing stamp collection!

I gave the cards a rest last night and concentrated on my 'gifts' as well as organising myself for Sunday so I made another calendar. I thought I'd enter this calendar in to this week's promarker challenge which is emerald and marine and 'anything but a card'...

Cutie pie 'Ian' surfing on the blue swirly waves in his 'emerald' and 'marine' coloured shorts and on his board too...

Swirly, glittery waves...

Ribbon, paper, glitter...

Recipe...

DCWV Text Print Stack
Ribbon from Stash
Blue Glitz It Glitter Glue
Silver Glitter Card - Flower Factory
Calendar Tab from Anita's
Surfer Ian from The Greeting Farm range coloured in with Promarkers - Marine, Emerald, Sky Blue, Ivory, Blush, Vanilla
Azure Smooch Accent Ink
I thought I'd enter this calendar in to the promarker challenge which is emerald and marine and 'anything but a card'

I won't post a picture of them as it's probably a bit sad (!) but I've sorted my cards into specific themes and borrowed my Mum's laminator and laminated little dividers with the various themes noted on them to put in the baskets with the cards! I had bought some little paper candy striped paper bags which I've stamped with my blog address so I'll hopefully get a few more visitors. I also decorated the larger white paper bags I have (for my gifts) with a little embellishment (square bit of coloured card punched with a star punch and then stamped my blog address on it - voila!) Getting quite excited/nervous now! But I am really looking forward to going to 'Ally Pally' as I saw on a website earlier!!! I get paid on Friday, just in time to stock up on all the lovely things at the Stamp and Scrapbooking Show on Saturday (major YAY!)

Happy Thursday chums...

Bon Voyage...

Phew! Had a mahusive card making session last night and I managed to make about....*drum roll please*......about 15 cards! Jeez...I was pooped I can tell you! I have not yet taken pictures of them all as I was so tired when I finally went to bed just after midnight but here's two that I made right at the start of my session. I'm going for simple designs at the moment as I had a look through my box and I have quite a few detailed cards and I wanted to make sure I had some simple ones in the mix.

Recipe...

Backing paper was made by printing out a map from the internet (worked quite well!)
Embellishments are from K&Co
Words are from my stash but I think they are from an American company

I'm happy with my card selection ready to take to the card fair now (just a few more xmas ones to make...!) so I'm going to concentrate on the organising side of things now. I'm a BIG fan of lists...have them everywhere! So I've got a list of things to organise before the fair. I'm out to dinner with the family on Friday night so I'm aiming to be organised for Thursday. Fingers crossed eh!

Happy Wednesday!

Glittery Congratulations...

I wasn't feeling too well last night but still managed to make a few cards to add to the box...I keep going from thinking "yep, ok I'm organised, I'll be ok" to "I haven't got enough stuff, it's going to be awful!"....which is a bit rubbish. I think I'm just a bit nervous as I don't know what to expect but I'm sure it'll be ok. I guess everything has moments where they don't have any self-belief! Anyway, enough wallowing - I made some cute little cards for those who have passed their driving tests. I made the little 'L' plates out of plain card and red glitter card. Sometimes simple is best I think...

Recipe...

Silver, Red glitter card from Flower Factory,
Sentiment is from Forever Friends range

That's it! That's all you need....very simple and quick. These cards probably took me about 5-10 minutes to make if that. And voila! Some funky driving test cards! On the topic of unusual cards, I'd be interested to see what was the most unusual card you've been asked to make by someone?

Have a good Tuesday...

Monday already?!

Happy Monday everyone! I can't believe how quickly Monday always comes around *sigh* At least I've got the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show to look forward this weekend in London...and my Craft Fair (eek!)

Here is another stand up calendar I made yesterday for a boy...I think I might try and make one more for a girl and that'll be me done on the calendar side of things! I keep forgetting I've only got 3ft of space and Mr Hannah has already said to me about not invading his 3ft!!

Close up of that cheeky Changito...

The paper, glitter, ribbon, gems and calendar tab...

Recipe...

Backing paper is from DCWV Text Prints Stack
Ribbon is from Wal Mart
Gems are from Papermania
Glitter Paper is from Flower Factory
Calendar Tab is from Anita's
Changito stamp is from Stampendous and coloured in with promarkers - silver, cinammon, cocoa, royal blue

I am desperate to get home and get crafting again...I keep thinking about it at work (is that sad?!). Just want to get home and make stuff!! I'm slowly getting organised for this Fair although I keep getting side tracked having made a list of stuff I want on Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday - at least the sun is shining!

Something a bit different...

Well here's my first attempt at making a stand up calendar and didn't think it was too bad! I am so in love with TGF stamps at the moment and thought this might attract someone at the Craft Fair next weekend...fingers crossed!

Race Card + Blog Candy Winner

Well it's been a very busy day today as I've been trying to make some 'different' cards for the Craft Fair next weekend. I didn't feel too creative when I started but once I got going and had made a few I felt better :o) I've forced myself to make cards 'out of my comfort zone' as I like to call it (as I'm sure we all have favourite stamps/techniques/products we all love to use!) which I found a bit hard but I had to think what others would like and not necessarily me! Anyway, here's a taster of what I made today...

Recipe...

Plain orange card with backing paper from DCWV's Kids mat stack
Embellishments from stash (not sure where from as they were loose!)
Letter transfers from Papermania

This was a pretty quick one..probably only took me about 10-15minutes but I thought it would probably be a good one for a boy's birthday to go in my stash.

I went to Homebase this afternoon and managed to pick up some really cute white straw baskets to display my cards in at the Craft Fair rather than my usual cardboard box - thought it would look a bit more professional! They were only £1.49 each - what a bargain! I'm starting to feel a bit more relaxed about the Fair next weekend - at least I'll have Mr Hannah with me so I won't be on my tod!

Anyway, onto the bit you're all waiting for - the blog candy winner! I wrote out numbers 1-13 on a bits of paper and asked Mr Hannah to pick one out for me.
He picked Number.......................................................................................*drum roll please*
..............................................................................................................................
12!

That's you Jackie! So a big well done to you and thanks to all those that took part. I'm sure I'll come up with some more blog candy soon so keep a look out. Jackie - please can you email me (hcporter@hotmail.com) and let me know what you would like and I'll get that ordered for you!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and managing to get some crafting done. Mr Hannah has promised to take me to Hobbycraft tomorrow so I think I'll get some ribbon to tie round the white baskets to jazz them up a bit. Thank goodness for Hobbycraft...I only wish they had more 'superstores' like Hobbycraft around although I do love the little independent shops even if they are a bit more expensive sometimes. I'm babbling now so I'll stop!!!

Sunflower Time...

This card is for a friend at work whose Mother-in-Law's 80th birthday is next Monday. She requested a 'Sunflower' theme and that it read "Happy 80th Birthday Mummy Vi" and the rest was up to me. I did have a quick look through my cricut cartridges but couldn't find the flower I wanted...I googled a Sunflower and then embellished the template by cutting some of the edges to make it look 3-D as well as making the centre and 'smooching' the petals.

Here's what I came up with...

A close up of the sunflower - I think the ribbon works quite well as the centre...

Loopy-de-do writing courtesy of my beloved cricut machine...

Close up of the ribbons, paper and gems...

Recipe...

Papermania Gold Adhesive Gem
Plain brown ribbon and gold ribbon from Hobbycraft
Sparkly and bristly ribbon used for the centre of the sunflower is Papermania
Pumpkin Smooch Accent Ink on the petals
Not sure where the paper is from - I know it was a single sheet though not in a pack!
Cricut Cartridge - Lyrical Letters

Really hope she likes it as well as the Mother-in-Law! I always feel a bit nervous with specific card orders and worry that they will dislike them. I always think it's nice if I can get as close to what people would like to see on their cards.

Yay for it being Friday! I've only got this weekend to work 'full time' as it were on my cards and stuff for the Craft Fair (I'm starting to get nervous/excited!) I'll announce the winner of my blog candy once I've sat down properly I'll get my Mr Hannah to pick the winner out a hat and post on here.
Enjoy your Friday!

Cool Birthday...

I popped into a new(ish - think it's been open for a few weeks) Craft Shop called The Eternal Maker after work which is literally about 2minutes walk from my work - dangerous I know! I've been meaning to go there for a while and finally got round to it today. It was beautiful in there, almost like a boutique and I was a little scared to touch things! Anyway, I picked up some prima flowers, some lovely paper and a set of Ice Cream themed Woodware stamps. I wasn't sure of the colours I wanted to use but flicked through my DCWV stacks and came across this delish paper and this is what I came up with...

A close up of the ice cream - I think I was trying to make it look like mango sorbet (to match the paper!)

Close up of the sentiment and punched card...

Close up of the Prima Flower - really striking colour...

Recipe...

Patterned Paper is from 'Kids' DCWV Glitter Mat Stack
Sentiment & Ice Cream stamp from Woodware coloured in with Promarkers - Berry red, Cinnamon, Gold, Pumpkin, Amethyst, Lavender and accented with Sakura White Gel Pen
Prima paper flowers with Papermania brad centres
Various bits of cardstock punched with Martha Stewart punch & a Papermania adhesive gem

Yummy colours! I guess Summer is over but this card definitely reminds me of it :o) Am craving ice-cream now....

Much love,
