I'm in NYC!

Just a really quick note but I am currently in NYC! I am having an AMAZING time and I've bought so many great crafty things! I've picked up my cricut and bought a few cartridges to go with it and can't wait to use them. Cartridges were on sale at $39.99 - UTTER BARGAIN!

Anyway, hope everyone is well!

A few pics from V...

Here are a few pics from last weekend at V Festival and then a few at Duxford. Sorry this post isn't craft related but I haven't had a chance to take pictures of the pages from Em's scrapbook! Time is now a bit tight seeing as I'm off to NY tomorrow - eek! Can't believe how quickly that has come around. To say I am excited is an understatement! I've had confirmation that my cricut machine (or crycut as my Mum said t'other day!) is there so that is waiting to be picked up - MAJOR yay! So again, I won't be posting properly until probably Thursday next week but please keep stopping by and leaving comments as I'd love to come back to a few!

Here's me and Mr Hannah at the start of V in 'The Arena'....

The craziest horse I had ever seen (plus the coolest - it's got a Hello Kitty bag for goodness sake!!)...

Johnny Borell singing his little heart out...he'd had a hair cut and looked good!...

The Ting Ting's on the C4 Stage...

Lily Allen on the main stage...it was really hot at this point.....

Me and my new best friend Fearne Cotton...she was lovely and I got there quick as she began to get a bit mobbed as soon as people started to recognise her...

Me and Mr Hannah @ Duxford...the weather was niiiice.....

One of cheeky me...

Hope you like them! I do have quite a few more but don't want to bore you. Anyway, hope you all have a lovely week whilst I am in NYC...don't forget that my blog candy is still open until 16th September so spread the word! Take care all......

I'm Back!

Wow! It's been a busy couple of days but I am feeling SO refreshed and am really enjoying my time off from work - didn't realise how much I needed it. I had such a fab time at V - will load a couple of pictures tomorrow including one of me with Fearne Cotton (she was lovely). Have really missed my crafting time...so much so that I managed to get 4 scrapbooking pages done for my sister's scrapbook today! Will be doing lots more tomorrow (hurrah!) so will make sure I get some pics up. Anyway, hope everyone is well and didn't miss me too much ;o) - thanks to those of you that have still been popping by!

Did someone say V?

Hi All! Woohoo it's Frrrrriday - major yay for me as I have the next 8 working days off work. Whoop whoop! So that means plenty of crafting time for me. Got lots of orders and got to make a start on the save the date cards too. I'm off to New York next Friday for a few days for my younger sister's 21st birthday celebrations. To say I am super-duper excited is such an understatement! But this weekend, I'm off to V Festival in Chelmsford (both days!) and I can't wait for that either! So in short, I won't be online now until Monday Evening/Tuesday Morning. I think it will be quite nice to be internet free for a few days :o)

Anyway, hope you have a fab weekend, whatever you are doing!

New Shoes?

Just a quick post tonight...my unorganised big sis is out for a friend's tonight and she couldn't find a decent birthday card - she wanted something shoe-related as this gal lurves her shoes (what girl doesn't eh?!) So we got home from work just before 6 and she was going out a 7...she had a look through my card box and didn't think any were suitable. I then remembered Lauren (bluebertie from CB) had sent me some fab die-cuts one of which were giant stillettos! So in 20minutes, I managed to make this...

Plain black flower, laid the pink one on top and fastened with a black brad and placed a pink adhesive gem in the middle and dabbed a bit of pink glitter glue on the petals...

Liked the curly writing of this birthday stamp...

Cool right? I love it and want a pair of them heels!

Recipe

Pink Paper is from DCWV Sweet Stack
Bow from Stash
Sentiment from Papermania stamped onto plain card from Paper Mill
Shoe courtesy of Lauren (bluebertie) but I think it might be one of Susie's die cuts
Pink Glitz it glitter glue

I am super duper excited as I have 8 days off work starting Monday so I am going to get lots of crafting done (I hope!) Got lots to do including a scrapbook, save the date cards x 50 (!), a wedding anniversary card and finishing my preparation for the craft fair. Do you reckon I'll be busy?! :o) Can't WAIT!

I ♥ Cricut...

Oh my gosh Oh my gosh Oh my gosh - I have finally purchased my very own die cut machine! Hurrah! I am overly excited about it! I have not yet picked it up as I am doing so when I jet off to New York next weekend. It's this little beautie here....

I've got the tote as well so I can wheel it around to my heart's content (I am so sad!) as well as various other accessorie's that I won't bore you with. I just had to share the news...and also the fact that I saved myself a whopping £120! Ridiculous non? Wish I could live in the US of A.

Fairy Princess...

Here is a card I made a while back but haven't got round to posting! I made this using the stamp I won in the first Promarker Challenge :o) It was a cutie! You know how I am into my bright colours at the moment - I am obsessed! I love how these colours go together...

The stamped cutie-pie (aka Mimi!) at the beach coloured in with those bad boys....

She had a bow but I decided to add an actual bow for effect. You can see gold glitter on the stars and the shell as well as shimmer chalk for the 'sand'...

Gorgeous glitter flowers from the Flower Factory with buttons as their centres...

Little flip-flops from Craftime - how funky are they?!....

Recipe

Backing Paper from DCWV Posies Stack 12 x 12
Glitter Paper & Flowers from Flower Factory
Orange Card from Papermania Card Strip
Flip Flops from Craftime
Gold & Pink Glitz glitter glue
Image from Pink Gem (Mimi) stamped using Memento Ink and coloured using Promarkers
Ribbon from Stash (it's probably Papermania!)

At least that's Monday out of the way eh?

Ribbit!

Here was this week's sketch provided by Sharon over on the Stamp Mad Challenge on Craftbubble and it was a good 'un. Bit of a twist to use green tones this week so I just had to use my froggy stamp and I printed out my own sentiment to match the stamp. Another different card to add to my stash.

And here was my card...

Here is that cute lil' froggy....

And the 'hoppy' sentiment complete with frog button...

Recipe

Frog stamp from Papermania using Promarkers Lime Green, Pine & Grass
Papers from Papermill
Stars made using punch and embellished with Anita's Gems
Fiskars Embossing Border Punch
Sentiment printed out from the comp
Froggie from Craftime

Hope everyone is well!

Baby Love...

Here are some more pages from my sister's scrapbook (loving the pink!) That blimmin pink gingham ribbon did NOT want to lie flat like I was telling it to! I guess it might have been something to do with the brads.

I love having different textures on my cards and scrapbook pages - I hate that feeling when you want to reach out and touch something (e.g in an art gallery) and there's a big sign saying DO NOT TOUCH in big scary letters. I don't like 'flat' work so love having different layers at different heights...adds to the fun!

Added the New Baby peel-offs to the ribbon - think it looks quite good...

You'll see what I was talking about with the blimmin ribbon. Em is gonna kill us with this pic as she still does it today when she's tired....

Like to add plenty of different embellishments on the page to keep the viewer interested...

Second baby page, look at those beautiful eyes....

Actually stencilled on the baby feet prints below...worked quite well!

Sentiment was from a DCWV sticker stack and was quite fitting. Like the chipboard flower too, just added a pearl...

Cute metal baby rattle threaded through the ribbon and letters are from DCWV stack again. Gorgeous Papers are from DCWV Nursery stack (6 x 6)...

I won't list the recipe here as there are so many bits and pieces involved that it would be a mega list and I don't want to bore you!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :o)

Planes & Automobiles...

I'm sure I'm speaking on behalf of many but I do struggle making male-themed cards so I really have not got many in my stash for work and thought that I really need to make some more especially with the craft fair coming up. I got the plane and car Papermania embellishments for just 50p from my local craft shop which has a moving sale on at the moment! A few weeks back I bought a Paper Cellar Male-themed paper pack from Hobbycraft so dug that out to use the papers in there as the background for the second car - went perfectly...

Recipe

Papers from Papercellar & K & Co
Embellishments from Papermania
Paper from Paper Mill
Gold Glitz it glue
Buttons & Ribbon from Stash

As you can see, very very simple cards and they didn't take too long to make either which is always good.

Things are TOTALLY poop at the moment so I am going to focus all of my energy on cardmaking and scrapbooking tonight and at the weekend, got lots of craft-related things to keep me nice and busy - bad stuff always seems to happen at once doesn't it! I'm sure things will look on the up soon - I am a firm believer in 'everything happens for a reason'. Hope everyone it's well - at least it's Friday!

Sisterly Love...

I'm sure some of you will remember that recently I mentioned about my sister's 21st....well I have not done a scrapbook page for quite some time now but my mum has asked me to do a scrapbook for my sister's 21st in September so I thought that I had better get started seeing as I only have about 3 weekend's left to do it (as well as evenings don't panic!) It's been really fun to look back at old pics, when I was young and well-behaved....so my mum says!! It's always nice to reminisce...So here is my first go at doing a 'sister' themed layout...I have 20 pages to play with at the moment but I know I can put more in...not sure what 'theme's to have (apart from the obvious) but I think I'll just go with what's in the pics my mum wants to have in.

Love the colours together, think they compliment each other well. Did try to colour the pink buttons in the 'sister' sentiment but it didn't work out so well - I guess smooch ink only likes paper! I created a baby page last night so will post that tomorrow. I think I did pretty well actually considering I received potentially rubbish news at work yesterday afternoon...perhaps I can open my own craft shop now........oh the dream.

Love,
