Glorious Goodwood - Ladie's Day

A non-craft related post but on Thursday (30th July) it was our Company Day Out which I had organised :o) Every year, volunteer's organise a 'company day out' and day's out vary from Thorpe Park to Treasure Hunts. I organised this year's event to attend Glorious Goodwood! Was such good fun and I even managed to win £5 on the last race. Hurrah! Few pics below...

Promarker Challenge #10 - Pastel Pink & Cool Aqua

Wow - Week 10 already, they really are flying by! This week over on the Promarker Challenge Blog, the colour's were Pastel Pink & Cool Aqua and Maria also supplied the sketch below to use

I decided to use a different size card (A5) as I didn't think I would all the necessary elements would fit on! Here is my go at the card:

A close up of 'Heavenly' Tilda coloured in using promarkers...

I was very impressed with the way the flowers turned out as I punched them out and embellished them myself! Turned out quite well I think :o) Tried something different with the buttons and decided to thread them through (which was easier said than done!) but like the effect and think it was a more unique way of displaying the buttons rather than just plonking them on the card!

A6 Papermania Card
Papermania Cardstock & Patterned Backing Paper
Flowers made using - Fiskars Flower Punch, Glitz it glitter glue, handmade paper, brads
Ribbons and Button from stash

Love You

This was a very quick card and probably only took me about ten minutes to make! A romantic one for my stash...can never make cards too early - Valentine's Day (incidentally also my birthday!) will be here before you know it! Just like Christmas...really need to start cracking on with my Christmas cards - I keep hearing all about Christmas in July and one card per week etc..I just can't get in the Wintery mood in Summer - seems all wrong...although I must say that the weather we are currently experiencing in the UK is much like Winter.

A6 Size Blank Card
Papermania Red Card Strip
Red ribbon from Hobbycraft (think it was about 39p per metre!)
Red Glitz it Glitter Glue
Mini Pearls
Sentiment from DCWV Spring Stack
Embellishment from Papermania

Hope you like it!
Off for a trip to the Range a bit later on as I acutally have a list of things to get - managed to run out of a few essential things and you can often find some bargains there and it's a little cheaper than Hobbycraft sometimes!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day...5pm can't come soon enough!

Mr & Mrs...

Some more wedding cards to go into my stash! They didn't take too long and I needed to use up some embellishments that I have had hanging around for a while! Very simple but used typical wedding colours which make them look fairly sophisticated :o)

Sorry I haven't managed to blog since Thursday...I was away in Cambridge and Norwich on Friday and Saturday so had no time to craft! Managed to find a cute little craft shop in Bluewater Shopping Centre on the way home and buy a few bits!

Anyway, I managed to fit in some cards today, one of which was my entry for this week's Promarker Challenge. The colours this week are Rose Pink & Lime Green - a colour combo which I loved!

Lothian Crafts

I was searching for some Cute Companions stamps and trawled the web to find the cheapest and came across this little beauty - Lothian Crafts. P& P is free over £5 and under £5 it's only £1.50. They have loads on offer including stamps from Joanna Sheen Popcorn the Bear etc) and Buzzcraft Fairy Doodles. I ordered my stamps last Friday after finding them for £9.99 (including p&p!) and they came the next day! Absolutely first class service - really would recommend them.

I'm not feeling particularly well, but came across this lovely little topper and some free papers I had stashed away so I thought I'd make a quick card - very simple and the longest bit was colouring in the embossed parts of the topper with the Smooch accent ink!

Birthday Card for Nan

This was a birthday card for my Nan that I made in June but haven't had time to post! It's quite a modern card but my Nan isn't particularly traditional..and I think she's biaised as she'd like any card I made for her! My grandparents were down at the weekend and she bought 4 cards from my stash! :o)

You can't really see the corner bit with the 'Nan' peel-off so I took a bit more of a close up:

I LOVE this paper...from one of my best stacks...I really like all the different kinds of purple within the card but was a bit worried it was purple overload! But I think I just about get away with it ;o)

Flying High

It was my Grandad's birthday on Friday and I wanted to make him a handmade card with an aeroplane on it (he's as passionate about aircraft as Mr Hannah is!). I managed to get the aeroplane stamp from Mad about Cards for £1! What a bargain :o) This card didn't take me too long as it's a fairly simple layout. I wanted to use colours which reminded me of the sky (i.e white and blue!) and kept the stamp simple with no colours or effects.

Had to get a bit of glitter in there!

Close up to show the ribbons, glitter and buttons

Paper from K & Company
Plain Ribbon from stash, Patterned Ribbon from Dovecraft
Buttons from Dovecraft

Sorry you're leaving...

Please excuse the horrendously rubbish photos! They were taken at still yet to find a good way to take photos in the evening without them looking awful! I made this card for my Mum's friend at work (who I used to also babysit for) who is leaving to go and work at another school. I was under a bit of pressure with this one as it was for my Mum so it took a bit of work to get it right! First of all had to get the rest of the team at work to pick out colours and then I had to check with my Mum before I stuck things down to make sure she was happy with it! I think it worked quite well in the end - like these colours together.

I made the little paper bouquet myself out of paper and embellished it with fab Smooch accent ink once I got the shape right.

Another one to add to my collection! I really love these Forever Friends stamps, just think they are so cute! I can't believe how a decent ink pad can make so much of a difference in stamping images! It's great :o) Anyway, another wedding card to go in my stash at work. Always handy to have wedding cards!
